While in Kenya for few days I went for a long weekend into the Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is an important “non profit” wildlife conservancy in the Laikipia District of Kenya and the largest sanctuary for black rhinos in East Africa.

The 360 km2 Ol Pejeta conservancy is also home for the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary opened in 1993 in a negotiated agreement between the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the Jane Goodall Institute.

I stayed at Alex Hunter’s “Ol Pejeta Bush Camp“, where 6 comfortable yet traditional tents are set in a nearly 100,000o acres camp situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river.
