Afternoon in the natural hot springs of Fiambala followed by a Argentinean barbecue. Later on we took place few kilometers after what we though would be the departure point of the Dakar’s 5th stage. We were not totally right, but we were able to get few good spots to take photos of the auto/truck segment of the 5th stage.

We have not seen the motos and quads as they had their own segment displaced due to heavy rain the night before.

After the day’s race ended we took the road to Chile. What should have been a nice a smooth 300 km trip took us finally more than 10 hours due bad weather conditions along the road and specially along the San Francisco pass (4750 m) where we encountered rain, snow and slippery tracks. We are now in Diego de Almargo where the Dakar is due to arrive this afternoon, in convoy, the bad weather having forced the organizers to cancel today’s competition.
