We crossed the Andes and entered in Chile via the San Francisco pass at 4700m. 380 kms later across the Atamaca desert we reached the Pacific coast. From now on, our trip will continue up North, to Peru and then Ecuador.
The Atacama region is indeed a land of contrast. Dry and harsh desert mixing with the cliffs and beaches of the Pacific coast. The region is the richest of Chile, mainly because of its underground natural ressources.
Next stop… Peru !
